Hamilton ( Doug) was influenced by his mother’s love for classic rock.. He began writing short stories for school and cheesy poems stuck in summer school as a wee lad. With a love for words and music he was merely an avid listener of a vast catalog of music. As a youngin he attempted guitar, but soon realized that lyrics were his muse. It wasn't until the release of Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers) that he discovered the carnal act of free styling. With his high school boys they began dedicating lunch periods and after school to the pursuit of flow circles and hacky sack, soon exclusively to flow sessions. Armed now with low sagging jeans and a cd collection ranging from Cage and Necro to the Doors and Jimi Hendrix he began to develop his own style of flow. Inspired by many "gangsta " rappers he insisted that he would only write about real life situations as they pertained to him. After High School he attended Brockport College where he met arch nemesis and right hand man Mike Tangney. Doug used his power of words to free style for free cups at keggers and to enchant the damsels of Dobson Hall. Soon Mike and Doug set fourth creating their first group, The Goodfellaz with their song "Morning Girls" recorded on a karaoke machine. The two soon began performing at school functions like Spring Fest and open mics. Goodfellaz laxed in writing and performing for a brief period when they met Tyler Bowen aka Tybow and L.S. with whom they formed The Beat Snappers. Doug wrote “Trials and Tribulations”, and “Brace Yourself”, and Mike was back on in full effect. During this period Fresh began dedicating all his time to writing.  He took dead end jobs to stay close to the Beat Snappers which became Cloud 9, but soon became disenfranchised to the band due to lack of determination on part of some of the group. Relocating back to Long Island, keeping in touch only with Mike, with a head full of new song ideas Doug turned to his long time friend and professional couch warmer Steve Baccello and began  writing to guitar instead of beats. Mike and Doug commuted back and fourth from Monroe and Sy-town to keep writing together and soon created the animal that is today Cloud 9. Regina Spektor will you marry me!
